The book tour has been all consuming! Tons of places, great media, amazing reviews (every review so far has been positive!). But I haven’t had a chance to update the blog. If you want more frequent updates, check our Facebook pages.
The Portland Monthly just did a great profile about the story behind the story of the book. It is really weird to have someone write about me and not to be the person doing the writing and asking the questions, but the story is solid.
In other news, Kirkus and Men’s Journal also have reviews coming out, as does Smithsonian, but I don’t think they are linked to yet.
And, most exciting of all, I’M IN NEPAL! The early book launch event here is on Monday. The internet connection here is poor, but I’ll do my best to post updates.
Buried in the Sky is referenced twice in the Spring issue of the Alpinist, but you have to pay to see it. The article is about K2.
My book was just mentioned by Rachel Maddow on MSNBC! The story actually didn’t have much to do with Buried in the Sky — it was about a story I’d done a long time ago and its connection to Mitt Romney — but it was neat to see the book getting national press! Reviews are coming in, too. More details on those soon. To see the clip, check out my author website.
Just received the first copy of the book!!! WOW. It looks great. Tons of photos. Tons of maps. I’m very impressed with Norton.
